About The Centre
Dunkirk Road Activity Centre
Dunkirk Road Activity Centre / Te Pokapū Toritori o Dunkirk Road.
Kia Ora! We’re Dunkirk Road Activity Centre, a community hub buzzing with life since 1978. Back then, we started small, offering after-school and holiday programs for local kids. Our mission to be an inclusive hub, providing opportunities for community and whānau to connect, learn and grow has seen us work with our community to develop a programme which allows for participation, partnerships and the development of people.
What We Do:
Coffee, Crafts, and Everything in Between
Think of us as your one-stop shop for community connection. With some really great core activities running on a weekly basis and excellent connections in our community, we are able to pivot quickly and work with community leaders to provide activities which meet changing needs, anything from life skills to social events or hui. Our space is available for private functions, and other community groups often use our facilities.
We believe in collaboration, so if you have a community development project in mind, we’re happy to offer our support and work together to make it happen.
Keeping it Local
We’re a proudly independent, incorporated society, and a big thank you goes out to our amazing funders and supporters who help us keep things running smoothly:
- Auckland Council
- Maungakiekie-Tamaki Local Board
- NZ Lottery
- Ministry of Social Development
- Community Organised Grants Scheme (COGS)
So, whether you’re looking for a new hobby, a friendly chat, to upskill, or a venue for your next event, come on down and say hi! We’d love to welcome you to the Dunkirk Road Activity Centre whānau.
